bad solder joint?
tap on chassis and see if it comes back. tap around yoke wire plug,etc....

Tapping...does it.

Yes, I tapped on the deguassing plug first, fixed the picture, no more vertical collapse. Now to figure out the location of the bad solder joint. Only was several light taps.

Thanks for the hint.

Tap anywhere and it fixes the problem

Gonna be a tough thing to find. A light tap on the frame restores the picture so it looks like it's take some time or it might be easier to reflow solder every thing.

flow

Take the chassis out and reflow solder from the yoke plug to the vert. output ic. Odds are if you use your meter you will find a continuity problem(pad solder joint came away from trace) or a crack solder joint.

Problem Resolved

I found the problem. The yoke connection to the PCB was faulty. The plug wasn't fully seated and was limited by tight wires that probably over time pulled the plug from being fully seated.

Easy fix when the problem is found...thanks for pointing me in the direction of the yoke connector.

Thanks,

Barry
