neotec nt-2515c goes from looking decent to crap in 5 mins

I have a game with a 25" neotec nt-2515c med res monitor in it. When you first turn it on, it looks pretty good. Then as time progresses the picture starts looking more faded and blurry. After 5-10 mins its pretty much garbage.

Now, my monitor knowledge is little to none.... But am I safe to assume this is a case of a needed cap kit?

While a cap kit probably wouldn't hurt....You described a pretty common Neotec issue of a dying flyback.

flyback

chad at arcade-cup should have them. around $30.

his are updated too to fix that focus drift issue that they all seem to have.

as time goes by you might need a new tube or rejuve the one you have but a fly *usually* fixes em up fine.

Go with a cap kit as well...since you will have the board out to replace the flyback, might as well throw some new caps in it. On my Neotec, I replaced the flyback, but had the wrong cap kit, so I had to hold off. The blurry/drift issue was gone, but the pic wasn't that bright. Once I installed the cap kit, it made a tremendous difference in color and brightness.
