The monitor needs a cap kit as it has the usual symptoms and it has random vertical collapse, but not to a single raster line but to about a 1/4" tall image.

The flyback is a bitch to adjust as it faces sideways and is behind a metal plate and it seems as though the focus and screen adjusts are epoxied.

While Bob's kit will work with all Neotecs I will need to pull the monitor to get the chassis out to identify.

Does anyone have a Neotec manual? Can you tell the model from these crappy photos? I will pull the chassis this weekend if I get the time.

These don't want to turn so time for a new flyback:

Here you can see the burn-in line from the vertical collapse. Weird thing is that if you turn it off and on it goes away. Maybe it is the gameboard?

What Bob has to say about the Neotec monitors:

I am going to get everything he sells for this monitor as I don't want to have 6 different orders like I did when I fixed my SI linear power supply.

Neotec
Combo Cap Kit $9.00
Pincushion Cap Kit $5.00
NT-500DX High Temp Cap Kit $11.00
NT-S500 High Temp Cap Kit $13.00
NT-2700/NT-2701/NT-2702
NT-3500/NT-3501/NT-3506 $11.00

2SD1887 [2354] Neotec HOT $5.00

And when I figure out which flyback to order, obviously not the medium res version:

Neotec flyback MRCFT-249 Med Res $30.00
Neotec flyback MRCFT-252 $30.00
Neotec flyback MRCFT-455 $30.00

The 2515C came standard in those cabinets from the research ive done... I just replaced mine with a k7400...

I have a capkit and flyback available if you need them... I was going to put them on my project chassis but I really don't NEED to lol

Yup, I pulled the 2515C from mine as well. No pincushion set needed, that was an optional board on the med res chassis only iirc. All you need is the combo cap kit. Also, check the diodes near the flyback. I forget which one it was, but one of em caused half the screen to collapse on mine (but the top half was fine...)

I replaced the flyback and did a capkit on my NeoTec in my Maximum Force.
Not sure if it is the same NeoTec as in the Area 51 or not. I have the manual and can check, but it looks like yours.
The thing works great now and looks perfect.

Here is mine: Just remember to match the thickness of the wires when replacing (NOT THE COLORS).

I certainly hope you're not using Bob caps in year 2019.

flybacks fail on these the same exact way as they do on K7400/7500 with the brightness and focus drift. if you have any of that, replace the flyback too. Neotecs often develop a lot of bad solder, I'm sure if you hunt around the vertical IC you might find something screwy there. I don't know if these get supply voltage for the vertical section off the flyback or a transformer, willing to bet the latter since it's a switching mode model.
