I have a 27E chassis out of a SF rush the rock that has been giving me some problems. The chassis originally worked when I got it, and died after 2 days of playing it. I recapped the chassis based on the info at www.pinrepair.com/rush/ with the exception of the 5.6uf bipolar as I ordered the wrong ones that were not hi freq. After this it worked for the evening I played it. It wouldn't turn on the next weekend.

I had ordered replacement flyback and installed this. It still wouldn't work. It had a 2sc4532 for a HOT and I tried replacing it with a BU2532DF with no luck. Both HOTs checked out good with a multimeter.

Anybody have any ideas on what to check next and the common failure points on this chassis. Where do you measure the B+ voltage on this chassis.

Thanks in advance!
Kyle

Who told you to use a BU2532DF?.. you should be using the original hot a 2sd1879 will be correct.
also be sure your b+ is set no higher than 113vdc which is measure at r117
if your not getting any b+ action then the problem is with your power supply section.

In my other rush monitor, it was using a BU2532AX, so I assumed the BU2532DF would work. The 2SC4532 was in there when I got it. I guess I'll check the B+ and order a couple 2SD1879.

are you shorting hots or are they staying good?

Both HOTs still check out good with a multimeter. I checked for B+ at R117 and am getting 0V. I checked the resistors in the power supply section and they appear to be good. Could the TDA4605-15 controller chip be bad? I have a couple TDA4605-3, I'm assuming they are compatible?

Well I tried changing out the TDA4605, and it fired right up with the 2SC4532 HOT. I guess all that's left it to check to make sure the B+ voltage is set correctly, order the proper HOT, and get me some bipolar hi-freq caps.

I noticed on the www.pinrepair.com/rush/ it says to use either of these for a HOT:

Horizontal Output Information includes Transistor Q402 is the horizontal output transistor. It is a type 2SC5150 and you can use an NTE 2639 as a replacement.

I'm just curious if the NTE is suitable opposed to the 2sd1879 as I can get the local electronics store to get them in and I avoid shipping charges.

Thanks again for your help in solving my monitor issues!
