Anyone out there own a Neo Gold cab and could shoot a few pics? I need to know the sizes of what I am missing (glass, bracket, cardboard, etc) and would like to see how a display is suppose to actually mount up inside this thing. Of course, if anyone has anything I'm missing here available for sale I'm certainly interested. I would like to keep it original or as close to it as possible. Obviously I already measured things out but would like to know what's factory before I proceed.

I have been hunting for a dedicated Neo cab for awhile and was given this FREE - I dropped in a 2-slot board with a 100-1 cart that I picked up from a member here awhile back, and temporarily set a LCD in there with a converter to check it over - fired right up and I played a few games. Now I need to get this finished so I can return to some other neglected projects.

I've put up pictures on my web site:

http://www.kohne.org/neo-geo-gold-cab-pics-and-measures

I happened to still have the monitor cardboard out of mine (I've been cutting a new one from posterboard), so I've also made an image of the monitor cardboard, overlaid with the measurements. If anything is off (measurement wise) let me know, but it's probably due to me mis-measuring.

I have also scanned the CPO, but I can't put those on-line right now - the images exceed the file size limits on my hosting.

Good luck!

That is how my crt was mounted in mine(screws were not in it because that was right after I sat the crt back in it).

If you need any extra measurements other then those posted I can see what I can do as well.

Edit: Picture is kinda big so I removed the image tags. Uploaded it off my phone and forgot to tell the site to resize it.

Something else to add.

The EL panels on your machine are probability dead. Most of them have long died. I saw this link I'm posting below on the neo geo forums but haven't swapped mine yet. These are a tiny bit bigger but the guys used some electric tape to mask off the extra area. Pretty much desolder the old ones, pull them off(they are glued in) and cut the wires to the correct length and solder on the new ones.

Thanks for all the pics! It's making a lot more sense now. Those cardboard measurements are really going to help.

The CP overlay plastic I've got is in fairly decent shape, only a couple of minor blemishes so it should clean up pretty nicely.

Thanks again! Another Gold is going to live again.

edit - I'll definately check into the EL panel replacement, as you guessed these show no signs of life.

You might hear some buzzing from the transformer for the lights as well since they are dead. Just unhook it until you replace them.

My has a multi cart in it right now so it isn't like the dual marquees would really help me. I just got it a few weeks ago and just haven't got to it. Already fixed the coin mechs(adjust, bulbs, buttons, spring, and hammer out a bent internal piece), replaced the buttons and joystiqs, clean, and replace the power supply. The power supply worked fine, it just was the version without the external power switch. Figured what the hell as I got the cabinet cheap enough and replaced it with a brand new one that has the switch so the power switch up front will work.

Update:

I picked up a complete working 19" semi-locally (some burn) and bought the correct frame from arcadeboneyard - switched everything over and it mounted beautifully. I also stopped by hobby lobby and picked up some black board and using the measurements that mhkohne was gracious enough to post as a guide I finally got it cut and installed. Tomorrow I'm picking up a piece of tinted tempered glass that I ordered from the local glass shop so everything should be back to almost normal.

Now when the weather gets nicer I'll have to re-paint the cp and apply some fresh molding (which probably means bondo and re-cut the t-molding channels - at least that's been the norm for me)

It's been fun finally putting this neo together. Thanks for the help!
