Hey all,
I bought this neo geo off facebook (for the low price of 300!) and have had a few questions/issues pop up.

So essentially the monitor doesnt seem to be receiving power, i can hear the included bust-a-move cart playing but cannot see anything and the monitor doesn't flicker, light up, or anything.

The next thing is that despite the marquee, this is rocking an MV1C board. How hard would it be to swap in a 2 slot, and where can I find one? Ebay only shows 1 slot, 4 slot, and 6 slot boards by themselves.

Next thing: Control panel. How can I custom make a new control panel for this? The buttons are too spread out to comfortably use.

Also, should I just buy an empty MVS cab and reconvert this back to xybots?

It's got a long way to go to become a xybots again.
There is a recent thread here about the pros and cons . Just search xybots . Not a lot threads to muddy up the search.

Got the monitor to come to life! Needs a cap kit for sure but at least it isnt complete toast. The power AND video inputs were simply unplugged lol

Note the game looks...well...a bit more playable in person (still makes the grayish ones and yellow vs orange really hard to do)

that is a very cool looking conversion. I would keep it neo geo
It is neat but it just feels...wrong. I guess it is just because I have never even heard of xybots until I looked into this cab. I think I kinda *have* to keep it neo geo though due to the parts for xybots being very hard to find from my research.

The reason the image looks like that is because the brightness is way up. All old monitors need a cap kit for reliability but this one could probably produce a stable image if you adjust it as is.

Tried adjusting the brightness but it was still screwed up. Has a bunch of white lines in person.
