So I buy this neo geo parts. It's a single slot with one game with wiring harness and power supply. It fits in a box and is easy to store.

So I start looking for parts joysticks etc etc.
I find a guy selling a cabinet for 150. Wow but there a buyer who already in front of me. Oh well darn. So I am just rattling about parts and peices I have collected and he says He got one at his parents he could sell me that doesn't work even cheaper. Smiles.
He says he got boards to sell too.

If things go well I will have my own neo geo arcade machine running by this weekend.

Maybe I should order one of those 150 in 1 .. smiles

I did the same thing as you. Got a Neo Geo and it went crazy after that. Now I have about 20 games and always on the lookout for others. IMO I would go with the 138in1 or whatever floats your boat. I did it and never looked back. Ya, having the carts is cool....but the price will kill you after a while.

Having this hobby will kill me after a while Laughs.
4 more games 4 more boards. I need to stop hanging around the for sale section of this forum LOL

So I pick up a neo geo game 4 sloter with one slot having an issue.

The guy has another 2.
So I bought them also...

But earlier today I told a guy I would buy his.

I think 4 Neo geo cabs are my limit.. Good grief.

I wonder if I can find Neo geo Lovers out around here and play match makers.

The guy says he has more of these games in the field.
Do you think I should just buy them all?
I wonder if I can find homes for all of them.

I bought 1 four slot at auction. I also was given a 2 slot board.
I picked up another 4 slot for free off of CL with no games but it was pretty swollen from rain. It worked 100% so I cleaned it up and threw in some cheap games and sold it for $200 after swapping out the monitor. I took that cash down to Fresno and bought a $150 4-25v3 that needed restoration. It's getting pretty close.

I then took the 2 slot and converted a red "angled cab" into a 2 slot for me to put out into service with my original MVS 4-25v1.

I have 2 originals (v1 and v3) and one conversion that's in a red cab. Angle cabs take MVS art pretty good.

Yeah it gets addictive to own them. I would just collect carts if you like. Just get the nicest cab you can find and pass off the others to people. This op probably doesn't have the nicest ones if they are out on location anyways. Original CPOs are hard to find in minty condition so that's the hardest part to restore. There is no good reproduction of them.

So I get this roached out Neo Geo. It a 4 slot with only 2 slots working. So I took a closer look.
Found dirt under a 74LS04 that was an Easy clean.
Found some bend pins shorting. Clip Clip.

Presto now the 4 slots are working again At least I think. I think I will need to buy three more games to make sure all 4 slots work.

While the screen works (it's only a 19") It's does screen burn. I do have a WG 7300 I could stuff into it.

True
a conversion might be worthless to a person who wants an minty one.
a conversion might be worthless to a person who wants one that matches that image in their memory.
A conversion might be worthless if your trying to put it in service in a public place.

But

A conversion repaired and sitting in someones house is better than being left under a tarp slowly falling part from the rain.
A conversion repaired and entertaining a group of neighbor kids is fun to watch.
A conversion repaired and creating new fans for arcades in general..

Priceless..
