I'm going through a few neo boards and ran into this error on a 4 slot board.

Any help would be appreciated.

thanks!

One of the surface mount SRAM chips is bad - one that is hooked to the video chip. (The other 4 are connected to the CPU... and 2 of those other 4 are powered by the backup battery and are the backup RAMs.)

MV4: Bad SRAM is hooked to the LSPC chip

MV4F/FT2/FS2: Bad SRAM is hooked to the LSPC2 chip...

There are 2 of them on the board, but only one is bad. Check my SNK repair logs and you'll find the location of the chip you need to replace based on the error message.

If you can't do the surface mount soldering, I can and do.

Check for battery damaged tracks before you pull any chips off, Neo Geo batteries are very prone to leak due to age and this cuts through tracks very quickly, to the extent that even if you have a mint looking board with an old battery on it you should cut it off as it can go from mint to trashed within 6 months.

Hey guys was wondering if someone in this old thread has a map for my Neo-Geo issue so I can find my bad ram.

Also can you do NVRAM on these to get rid of the battery? Thanks!
