Neo Geo MVS Multi carts, how do they do it? Anybody kow how they are jamming a lot of big meg games into 1 MVS cart. If you know how its done, can you add all the games in with another set of chips. Just wondering.
Ideally that way you can make a Multi-cart without all those useless versions of games but then again once they built one of those. Why would you buy another 1 in XXX multi-cart.
If you could built a cart with just fast static memmory and built an interface to transfer your roms into it. In theroy you should be able to play almost any game.

I've never torn one apart, but I'd guess simply very large roms. They need a little bit of circuitry to select which game, but beyond that, just big (capacity wise) parts. Remember that technology moves along at a pretty good pace - the chips used back in the day on the MVS carts are nothing compared to some of the stuff available today.

But once one of those was available, they wouldn't have to keep putting out new carts. Keep the same one on the assembly line and it would sell. The technology exists to have the full Neo library on one cart. They could charge 300 a cart and get it because you wouldn't have shell out thousands on individual game carts. I'd pay if someone could modify an existing one and put the neo library on it with no hacks.

I'm still waiting for them to improve the tech before I jump in. The hacked versions are 100% useless, and there needs to be a cart with all the games to make it worthwhile.
I don't know why they don't make a cart with a compact flash card dock or something, and just sell it with no games...
