Aug 15/2025: WOW! What a wild 3 months! So many people are interested in this cart! I finally managed to catch up with the long waitlist. I'm expecting a few more carts to arrive this week and it will take me about a week of soldering/programming/assembling to put these carts together.

If you're interested in one of these carts - DM me and I'll add you to the waitlist!

FS: Neo Geo ALL-IN-1 cart for your MVS arcade system.

IMG_9072.JPG

Back in 2023, a programmer that goes by the name Vortex (on Arcade Projects Forum) figured out how to modify the Chinese 161-in-1 carts to hold different games. Others have built upon his work by writing new menu code, figuring out how to add more flash memory to the cart (so it can hold all the games) etc.

Since October 2023, I've made over 100 150 of these carts for customers around the world. Making these carts is a time consuming effort that requires the purchase of donor carts, custom PCBs, extra flash memory, etc. There's a lot of work and many hours that goes into making these custom carts. The advantage of this cart vs the common SD flash carts (like NeoSD) is that all the games instantly boot (no waiting a few minutes for games to load from an SD card) and the full Neo Geo game collection (a long with a few other extra games) are on this cart. The ugly 161-in-1 menu was also replaced with a fresh new menu.

I've been selling these only on Arcade Projects, but figured I'd post here in case there's anyone interested in this cart and isn't found on that forum.

What I do:
- All the flash chips are removed and reprogrammed with a full set of all clean Neo Geo ROM dumps (all MVS, AES, some Neo Geo CD ports, some homebrew games) - NO HACKS**
- the 3 FPGA chips are reprogrammed with new code to support the extended number of games
- new menu is added to make game selection
- extra flash memory is added to make all the games fit (stock 161-in-1 doesn't have enough memory chips to fit all the games)
- all new PCB boards to support the new flash memory are used
- 2 new custom power rail circuits are added to support the extra memory and fix the bad audio output of the original design - this is a custom design by me using new components
- all the capacitors have been replaced with new Japanese Nichicon caps
- all new components sourced from DigiKey
- corrections are applied to the PCBs to improve cart compatibility and power rail stability
- You can learn more about this cart here: Arcade Projects How-To thread

A customer reviewed the cart on YouTube (you can see the list of games on the cart):

My video of the cart in action: https://x.com/leonkiriliuk/status/1721719015972762101

PRICE: $300 USD + actual shipping to you (to most places in the world that's about $20-$25 USD) with tracking.

BONUS:
I also provide you with a modified UNIBIOS V4. This will allow you to easily get back into the main menu to select a different game to play without needing to power cycle your entire arcade machine. Well worth it to save your CRT monitor. If you have a consolized MVS, this is less of an issue to power cycle the machine and you might want to skip installing the chip.

PAYPAL ACCEPTED. ALSO ACCEPTING WISE.COM PAYMENT IN EURO.

** KNOWN LIMITATIONS:
- KOF2000 has graphical glitches in the menu text but the game is fully playable
- GAROU:Mark of the Wolf is the beta version
--> In both cases, the original carts are not standard Neo Geo carts. They have extra components to support the extra memory in them. These components are not reproduced in the FPGA code due to space and as a result compromises had to be made to make the games fit and work. Every other game is a perfect dump of the original
- DIP switches are not saved between changing games. You can change settings in UNIBIOS or the service menu but those changes are lost between game changes
- Some multi-slot MVS PCBs have issues with multicarts (like this one, NeoSD, Darksoft) It's best to use it in a 1 slot PCB
- Some CMVS units have poor 5V AC adapters that don't put out enough current for any multicart to function. Some arcade power supplies are pushing 30 years now and the 5VDC line is out of spec resulting in the cart not booting. When in doubt, try it on another PCB. All games are tested for about 3 hours in my Neo Geo arcade machine before shipping out to you.

Until recently, I've had a long waitlist to get this cart. I've finally caught up and now opening up for new orders. The 4 carts you see are available for sale now. If you pay today, you'll get a tracking number today; No waiting. I always get more donor carts coming in, and the next batch with be ready for sale in about 3 weeks time. If you are interested in this cart please DM me here or e-mail me ([email protected]) and I'll add you to the buyer list when these 4 sell out. No deposit required. You only pay when the cart is ready to ship to you.

Thanks for posting over here. I have 161-1 with 4.0 uni-bios, wish it could be set to boot straight to pickNmix, and am wondering what is the main benefit of this cart? More games vs 98 in pickNmix? More accurate?

As you know, the regular 161-in-1 cart doesn't really have 161 games. It has a lot of duplicates/hacks. Razoola in making the pickNmix removed all the hacks and broken games, leaving only about 100 games. But this cart has all the Neo Geo MVS/AES clean ROM images from MAME loaded onto it (and other games as well, like NeoCD ports and some homebrew) It has 30% more flash memory added than a regular 161-in-1 to make everything fit. It also has a nice modern menu to select the game.

There's a lot of Neo Geo games that aren't on the 161-in-1. This cart has them all. This cart was also modified to fix a lot of the electrical faults found in the 161-in-1 (bad voltage rails, bad audio output, crashing games, poor compatibility, etc)

It's what the 161-in-1 should have been, but never was. :)

Too bad it takes me about 5 hours to make 1 cart...

link to full game list on this cart please.

It has every official Neo Geo MVS release from NAM-1975 to Samurai Shodown V Special (with the noted KOF2k and Garou qualifiers) plus the following games:

Bang Bang Busters - Proto
Crossed Swords 2 - CD Game
Ghostlop - Proto
Idol Mahjong - CD Game
Iron Clad - CD Game/Proto
Magician Lord - 2 rom versions
Metal Slug 2 Turbo
Samurai Shodown 5 Perfect
Shock Troopers - 2 rom versions
The Eye of Typhoon - 'Proto'/3DO port
Xeno Crisis - Indie/Homebrew
Zintrick - CD Game
240p Test Suite

It's a great cart and Leon does high quality work. I still own several real carts because I can't help myself, but this cart is absolutely worth the money.

All 4 carts are now sold!!!

I have 3 more donor carts on my way to me. They should be here in 3 weeks time. I need about a week to convert them from 161-in-1 to ALL-in-1. I will post here when those are available. If you want to secure one of these spots, DM or e-mail me. I don't take deposits, just add your name to a list of interested customers.

Can you sacrifice the AES and NeoCD stuff to get enough space to make KOF2K and Garou work properly?

The issue is not CROM size, it's SROM size. The 161-in-1 carts can't handle bank switching of SROM; so carts are limited to 128KiB of SROM. These 2 games have much bigger SROM sizes. Here's some examples of SROM sizes:

Metal Slug 5: 128KB
Kof2002: 128KB
Garou: 524KB
KOF2K: 524KB

Is there a way to get it to auto-boot to a specific game on power-up?

No. The cart doesn't have any memory to store settings between power cycles. The menu technically is a game (game 0 on the cart) it's the default game that boots. The 3 FPGAs know to load game 0 on power up.

The PICKnMIX will not work with this cart. The PICKnMIX only works with a specific revision of the 161-in-1 for which Razoola hard coded a new menu into the UNIBIOS. In other versions of the 161-in-1, the games are in a different order and there's no provision for that.

Also, the regular 161-in-1 cart has a lot of hacks/duplicates. PICKnMIX takes those out so you end up with less than 100 actual games in the menu. The cart I make has no such thing, there's 162 real games on the cart. The 27C1024 chip doesn't have enough free space to hold all the text (game names) for all the games. I guess you can modify the UNIBIOS to support this cart with PICKnMIX, but then, which 60+ games do you remove from the menu?

If there was a way to make the Neo Geo support a bigger BIOS chip (like the 27C2048 or 27C4096) then PICKnMIX support of bigger multicarts would be possible; but not at this time.

I just received my cart and it works as described. Couldn't be happier. Leon does great work! He kept me informed during the entire process, shipped quickly when it was ready, and it arrived packaged very well.

Side note: I have mine running in a 4-slot board. It works just fine as long as you leave the other cart slots empty.
