Okay so, the original MVS minimarquees aren't just paper, they're some kind of plastic (translite?) and appear to have a second mask layer underneath the art that affects how different parts of the image are lit. I know there's a few repro people out there, but is anyone making ACCURATE reproductions -- i.e., plastic with the mask, not just inkjetted onto paper? Or am I stuck with trying to find original minimarquees for everything?

No to my knowledge. There was someone on the neo forums making them a few years ago, but I believe he stopped some time ago. I've no idea if anyone else picked it back up or not as I've been out of the Neo scene for a few years and am just now starting to get back in.

Regardless, feel free to browse my various Mini Marquee archives for high res scans and custom re-creations here (several thousand at this point): http://www.arcadecrusade.com/gallery/v/minimarquees/

Inkjet doesn't work when backlighting. Emdkay seems to be doing reproductions of several mini marquees. I ordered several from them recently and can let people see the quality when I get them. They are slow to have made since he doesn't have constant access to the printer but some mini marquees are impossible to find

no one else has a public color laserjet printer at work? ;) you can print em out at kinkos man, quit making a big deal over the mini marquees - they are so simple to repro decently.

I got them repoed at kinkos i did the paper after the regular stock was about 69 or 59 cents a sheet and each sheet fits 2 Mini marquees they are ok and do the job in the meantime i would recomed kinkos cheap and affordable. + they have a cutter so mine came out with perfect cuts.

I bought several of the repros (like 40?) from the guy on the Neo forums. They are WAY better than paper. He had to have them made by a printer in large quantities. I think it was a lot of work. I'm sure someone could do it again if they wanted to. In a pinch paper will work but not for me.
