Ok,
I removed the switch restored all wiring.
That went GREAT!
now, I am trying out some neo boards in my cab (a one slot I bought works intermittently at best is what I was told.)
1 slot fired up, some scramble to the graphics but ran like a champ and loaded cart even though scrambled view was trying its best to work.
This is what i expected. works great, sound is great in mono or stereo.

4 slot i bought off a member here is VERY tempermental at best!! was sold to me as working. I noticed a nice scrape mark on the bottom when went to install it today.
Figured shit happens and lets put it in and watch this cab fly to its glory.
WELL IT FLOPPED!
As of now its not wanting to see 4 carts at once, Mainly 2 middle two.
sound when working is VERY low volume..
Any ideas? input? suggestions??

This is very much making me frusterated, I am at the point of debating putting my neo 29 cab, boards, (other jamma boards) and tekken 4 in one big ass lot and saying im done, I tried it was a awesome cab, but nothing else is cooperating.

connectors do not look that dirty at all.
bottom board is kinda funky/DUSTY more like it, but i dont want to do a contact cleaner bath and mess anything up as well...
So any ideas would be aprecated
and again the sound on the one slot, loud vibrant and clear.
4 slot little to no sound (seems to vary depending on the turn on.)
and wont see all 4 carts!
WTFBBQ

Don't give up on it yet man! I'd love one of those cabs! Worst case, just send the Neo Geo board to channelmaniac... I bought a MV4 that needs work and will be sending mine to him as soon as I finish playing it.

His prices look great, not worth the frustration to try to piss around with it yourself, just pack it up and send it to him. That's what I'm gonna do.

Have you tried cleaning out the cart slots on the baord and edge connectors on the carts? Use a pencil eraser on the edge connectors and alcohol and a tooth brush for the slots.

ok

A tootbrush and alch, ill try that and pencil eraser on carts?
will try that.
what should i give dry time for the board after Obivously not drench it, but wet enough to clean and debris.
I just tried the compressed air.

***update****

OK, as of now i get it to see 4 carts.
but the audio is still and issue.
It starts up and Is BARELY audible.
sometimes the splash screen has NO audio what so ever.
it seems after letting it sit and cook for about a hour or so
the audio levels have come back up to a semi respectable level.
So anyone with any ideas?
thanks

For the carts, hit up an office supply store and get one of those wedge-shaped pink pencil erasers. In fact get a few (good to have around). If you find one thin enough you can use it to clean the carts, just make sure you get rid of all the shavings really good.

If it doesn't fit, trim it down carefully with a razor blade.

damn...

damn. well 125 later and board already needs cap kit? .does match what I have read around though.. kinda bummer though.

what do these cap kits run? cause as of now can't afford one. my income went from full to none..

how many caps come in the kit?

also any ideas why a horizontal width won't shrink down quite enough? monitor in this cab was capped not that long ago from before I bought it. just seems its about a quarter inch to wide at the lowest setting.??
I agree, these boards always have problems with the sound and they are usually the caps in the sound section.

You know theres a volume switch on there right?
and you have the wiring setup right nor neo stereo.....just making sure on both counts
Hows the sound out of the headphones.
Ive always had problems getting mine to recognize all four games, its just trail and error and reseating till it likes it seems to me.

yea. and ill check with cold start

ill have to check that on the headphone jack today with a cold start and see. I missed the volume slider BUT I did shut down took board out and blew out connectors.

once I took it out I adjusted slider and still low volume for the first hour or so then volume started to come up slowly to almost a full level.

I will check the headphone jacktoday with and see if that makes a difference.

where to buy a neo 1 slot bios chip?

hey another neo question.
where can I buy a neo 1 slot board bios chip??. the one slot I have now it appears to have a hacked or modified bios. the splash screen looks like somone tried to home draw the logo.. might explain why this board dosent work properly at all..
and I think with a bios change it would probly end up firing right up properly.. least willing to give it a shot.

neo 29 cab. coin up both players how?

ok. and another question. the bios on thos system is for 2 or 4 coin slots. any way to get credits to player 2 as well as 1 when coining up from the coin slot?, this going to require tapping the harness ?
I know the service button dose both.. should I just wire a 2nd service switch onto the coin reject button?? input please guys.

audio issue. no headphone low audio.

ok. well I took the suggestion of trying the headphone jack from a cold start. there is no audio what so ever. I tried both jacks. adjusted the slider with head phone in both jacks. and I got nadda zip, also on morning cold start again the main audio very low and that is with slider adjusted to max..
as for cabinet wiring. its wired to factory. I just finished this back up. and with the one slot audio is loud, clear and as it probly should be on the 4 slot..
so I dunno I'm assuming were talking about a cap kit for sure then??.. ugh!
thanks all.
