My Google skills are a little off. Does anybody know what voltage that comes out of the transformer to power the EL bulbs? I bought a tested "working" EL board that I cannot get it to light up. Put my old board in and it gets very little light, so I'm thinking I got a bad board. Unless there are other suggestions out there.

use a volt meter to see what is actually there and then you can use the proper bulb or fix the voltage issue. I don't really know what the EL bulb is so a pic could help here. Is it a led, incandescent, neon < doubt that> or florescent <doubt that also>.

My understanding is EL stuff (in general, I know nothing about the Neo Geo's implementation) typically runs at around 125VAC, so I would say 150VAC is likely normal.

Yeah, be careful they'll shock the hell out of you. Since they're usually dead, for some reason I never think of them as 'hot'... I've been shocked like three times by them! It bites a little worse than 120 so yeah 150 sounds about right, lol.
