You did great! That's one of the best games you can get for your first. You'll be able to swap game carts or just buy as xxx-in-1 cart and have them all in one.

Good job.

the black thing is the cart. Unplug it and you'll see a label on the end telling you the title. It might be on there a little snug, so pull it off slowly and carefully.

Nice Score!!!! Dynamo Cut Corners cabs are really awesome!

FYI... Bad connectors are really common on those Neo Geo boards and carts... If you have trouble with scrambled graphics after messing with the cart, just re-seat it a few times. Usually clears it right up.

Edit: And good news, the 1-slot MVS boards are completely JAMMA compliant. Your Double Dragon board should be a drop-in replacement! Also, it's not completely similar, but there is a Neo Geo version of Double Dragon too (would just be a cartridge you could drop in)... http://www.arcade-museum.com/game_detail.php?game_id=7620

good job

Yes the Dynamo HS1 cab is a solid one.
The conversion is done pretty well also. Oddly they used a Stock SNK cab overlay on it. I'm suprised if it's not lifting on the edges as they are not really glued down and are too think to resist any buckling.

The monitor is a K7000 19" and is common for these machines.

Your board is a MV1

Start collecting some carts or get a multi.

I would also suggest a new pair of bat top joysticks.
IL Competitions would do well in this machine.

awsome guys thanks for all this info.. its nice to know what i have just for reference...

now this is jamma correct? i should be able to plug the Double dragon board right in it? and it would work? but now that i have this i may just find a few cool games, or just one cool game and put it in... cause i really don't like this game ha ha ha.. and then get another cabinet and monitor and install the DD in there because i have bought a brand new jamma harness and joysticks and buttons... so i'd like to get a nice DD setup

im looking forward to ripping it apart and cleaning it all up fixing it painting it all up and making it look sharp.. only problem with it is one of the two bulbs in the marque was broken, and the coin door has minor minor bend due to what looks like being broken into.. other than that its in good shape..

actually the question i have is that the picture on the monitor could be moved over to the right a bit? anyone know how to do that or have a website that would help me..? or is it even something that could be done?

again thanks for all the help

fred

edit: also on the board there is a volume slider and another slider? what is the other slider for?

Yep, should be plug-and-play JAMMA compliant.

I'll let someone with more experience on the K7000's chime in on this one, but typically you either have a jumper wire that allows you to change the position (one of three possibilities) or a width coil that allows adjustment. The width coil will require some special tools to adjust (basically hexagonal plastic sticks), they can be purchased from a variety of parts resellers. They are called TV Alignment Tool Kits.

If its the newer K7000 with the remote board you should be able to shift it over.

Also just a quick FYI - if you ever happen to rebuild the monitor using Bob Robert's kit - make sure you tell him its for a Neo Geo, apparently there's an extra cap that helps it sync.

For 175 you did well. That era/style Dynamo cab was built to be a JAMMA work horse. You can damn near go any direction with it. Plus, as mentioned, your board is a 1 slot, so you can swap in other JAMMA boards all day long.

Good pick up. Enjoy it. :)

Woah what?!? Is there more info on this?

I thought this was for the 2,4,6 slot boards?

I thought the 1 slot boards where complete Jamma?
That is correct, all of the 1 slots are "almost" jamma (the only difference is the need for a 4th button for each player)
This of course would not affect the OP, as his cab is already wired for the 4th button, but if one were to take a Neo-Geo 1 slot and plug it into another Jamma cab, they would have to wire in the extra buttons.

the 2,4,and 6 slots have a slightly different pinout for stereo sound.

Q: Will the motherboards work in a JAMMA cabinet?
A: They will all work, but are not 100% JAMMA compliant

Q: What does that mean?
A: The 1 slot boards are the closest to JAMMA, but have the addition of a 4th button. Some of the 1 slot boards have an external connector to run Stereo sound instead of the mono JAMMA sound.

Q: What about the other boards?
A: The 2, 4, and 6 slot boards are wired to what I would call the MVS standard. It is almost the same as JAMMA, but have the additional 4th button, a select button, and Stereo sound out of the harness instead of an external connector. The test switch is also in a different location than the JAMMA test switch.

From what I understand, the extra channel for the stereo sound is in the same position as the mono sound "ground" wire, so apparently using a 2,4,6 slot in a jamma rig can burn up the sound amp on those boards.

looks like there are a bunch of knobs on the back of the monitor for adjusting it.. knobs like "v pos" "v hold" "h pos" "h hold"

im going to read up on this monitor and see if thats what does it..

THANKS SO MUCH TO EVERYONE FOR HELPING ME OUT... i have learned alot!!!! thanks
