Yes the big reds are nice. Make sure that it's complete as there are different systems other than just the Main PCB and harness. The 4 slots also had a memory card daughter board build into the CP. You'll want it complete with the 4 way marqee EL selectable mini Marquee lights.

Study the photos of the insides of these cabs and check that everything is there.

Test all 4 slots, how it switches and the sound volume levels and adjustments...

Thank you. Is this a good point of reference?

Congrats! Post here or PM me if you run into any issues. I have a v1 as well that is now mostly restored.

Thanks! I really appreciate it. I will probably start with the 161 in 1 multicart, I know some consider those blasphemous. Have you owned one? The cabinet does not come with a cart, but he has some to show me it works. If there is anything good missing off the multi, I can pick up the separate carts.

While I don't have one personally, I've heard the 161 in 1's are better than most of the other multi's. Sometimes gameplay and sound can be off a bit but I haven't seen this personally. It's a good place to start at least ;).

Chances are, you'll probably grab a couple carts at some point and then become hopelessly addicted to collecting them like the rest of us :D. I had planned on starting with a multi-cart as well... I never did end up getting one, but I have 20+ other carts at this point, LOL.

I'm sure I will end up getting a few more carts eventually. It will be nice to buy a cabinet that doesn't need work done to it...lol. I should have my Lethal Enforcers 2, 60 in 1 cabinet, the and my big blue ready to go in a couple of weeks. Then I just have to prime and paint my SF2 Champion Edition Z-back and my garagecade will be fully up and running.

Just picked it up, looks great! He had painted the sides and put new side art on it (lettering). The art on the front coin door panel could use a little work, but the control panel is good, the monitor looks great, and the controls work. I can't complain, the inside looked clean too. All of the slots were working fine too. I thought it would have been larger than it was. I would say I got a damn good deal.

They're okay. They are laden with crappy hacks and awful menus, but are a good way to figure out which games you like enough to buy a real cart for. I run a 120-in-1 in my 1-slot, and it's preferable to opening it up to swap carts all the time. They're also the easiest way to play some of the rare & expensive titles like Samurai Shodown V Special.

Awesome! Enjoy the game — it's absolutely my favorite 1990s arcade system.

There's one issue I came across, it seems like it would be a wiring issue, but I won't have time to check it out until the weekend. When inserting a credit, it automatically goes to the 1 player side, no matter what side you coin up. Any suggestions on what it may be, if it is something other than the 2 player coin wire being spliced into the 1 player coin?

Thanks for the info. I am going to order the 161 in 1 tonight. I imagine it will take a couple of weeks to get here.

Someone posted that same issue a while back either here or at neo-geo.com but I can't remember what it was. I seem to remember something about the region being set to Europe causing a single credit pool for both players but I could be wrong.

I thought I have seen people on here talk about having problems with the multi carts in the multi slot machines.

I have run my 120-in-1 in my 2-slot, and it worked fine. Your mileage may vary, of course. I'd recommend putting it in the first slot, since it resets the system when you pick a game, and you have to cycle through whatever's in slot 1 after if it isn't.
