I have a couple of NEO GEO PCBs which I know little about and was considering building a JAMMA adaptor to test them out with the cartridges I have.

But I wanted to ask if it might be a better idea to get an adaptor from either Y-Plus or JAMMAboards. I can't remember the specifics, but I'm aware of some negative opinions concerning these adaptors, but is it plausible to just get one and then make whatever alterations are necessary on it so that it ill work perfectly? (It would be easier than starting from scratch).

Thanks.

The one slot board is standard Jamma, with the exception of the fourth button being pinned. All you would have to do to test it is short the fourth button(s) to ground.

The two slot would need one of these adaptors, or you could build one yourself. If you look closely at the pics you will see that the adaptors primarily alter Jamma to a stereo sound output and add a few other buttons. I think you could build an adaptor yourself pretty easily, but these sell for so cheap it is almost worth the asking price...

And they are relatively neat. I figured if there was a problem with one right out of the box a component upgrade and a little soldering would fix it.

(I was about to pick one up with a stereo mod, but I didn't want wires hanging off the PCB).

Thanks.
