so, i brought a neo geo 4 slot from a seller on ebay who claimed it to be tested and working 100%

i got itthis morning and have tried everything to get it going correctly, the picture is perfect on my monitor but for the life of me i cant hear any sound even with the slider maxed only a buzzing coming from the speakers.

what do i do, try and fix or report item not as descriped on ebay, seller seems to think its 100%

i have -5v hooked up so no problem there sound is dead, burned again on s**tbay

Is your cab wired for JAMMA? MVS wiring is slightly different and if it's not changed it'll cause sound issues, and could mess up the board.
Here is a page on the differences bettween JAMMA and MVS: http://hardmvs.com/html/jamma.htm
Apart from that, it's possible that the capacitors in the audio circuit need to be replaced. The cap kits can be purchased from here:

There should be two sliders on your board, one is for headphone volume (There's no built in headphone jack for a 4 slot, but there is a connector for it) and the other is for the speaker volume.

Also, remember to check your battery. It can cause all sorts of issues that will be hard to fix if it starts leaking.

Connecting an MVS to a JAMMA wired speaker setup will not harm the board, the speaker will simply output the difference between the left and right channels.

Assuming your 12v is correct, I would suggest recapping the audio section of the board. Kits are available, I recommend buying them from the address above. It's channelmaniac's site.
