I purchased this one slot motherboard that was having issues. I was getting a green screen on it which indicates that I need to replace the 32.768 Khz clock crystal. I noticed that the battery while it didn't look like it leaked did have some corrosion in the area. So I also replaced the battery with a CR2032.
I then turn the unit back on and came to a cross hatch pattern indicating that probably there is an issue with the game cartridge. I bought a game that was shown to me to be working so I assumed that it was. Since it's not booting up I went ahead and took the game out of the cartridge and gave it a thorough clean. It's motherboard was a little sticky for some reason. I also insured that all of the pins look like they were in good order.
With the risk of getting chastised for asking these questions could someone direct me to a resource that I could look at to help me familiarize myself with this system and what could be the culprit of this issue? Since it's now off of that green screen at least we know that the system is working. I'm currently letting it go through a work Ram test.
