Needhams eprom programmer EMP-20

I could have swore I read on the official site that they say either 12vac OR 14DC. It may have been another forum.

Well I know for a fact 12VAC will work without any issues as for the 14DC I have not confirmed it. I just went with 12VAC since that's what the original PS was for the thing.

I happened to find a 12VAC / 2A adapter at work that I believe went with this EMP-20. Interesting since the Needham website archive (and other photos) show it as 3A. I confirmed with a buddy of mine that his EMP-31 (listed as 3A) also came with a 2A adapter.

Regarding DC supplies, the archive lists 15VDC / 3A as an alternative; I suspect anything a volt or two above 12V should work. I tried this with a variable DC supply, but it wouldn't power-on. My supply was tip positive though, so it might take ring positive polarity instead.
