Does anyone know if the emp software will work correctly on a windows 10 or 11 machine with a physical LPT port?

I've never heard of anyone doing this, so I would think that it would not work.

The Needham software is very much DOS based , I very much doubt that it will work win W10, W11.

W-95 and W-98 are basically a GUI interface for DOS, but starting with Windows XP , it a different OS
and the DOS drivers are different. I've heard of people using a virtual instance (VM) to run DOS Box,
but I've never tried that.

I thought I was using an xp box before. I can't seem to find the desktop I was using after we moved and I moved my shop. There was an NT driver floating around for it that worked pretty well. I may just have to hunt down an old pc again.

You can run it in Windows XP for sure. But you do need the special NT driver from Needhams. Let me know if you can't find that. I may still have it…on a floppy!

I'm pretty sure the EMP software worked on Windows 7 too. In some version of compatibility mode. And maybe Windows 10. But I can't be certain about windows 10. And I don't have my EMP-20 anymore to test for you.

I don't know about windows 11. I don't have that yet.
