Needed: Punchout Joystick

4-way. You can buy a 4-way restrictor from Mikes Arcade.

Otherwise, I'm pretty sure it is the same stick. The manual probably breaks down the part number for each part if you wanted to double check.

Nice. That's what I wanted to hear.

You also will need that plastic plate that goes over the joystick to make it look more finished on the top.

they are orange

The original buttons on one of my Punch Outs was white button with orange collar. It was 100% original with the blue "glue" stuff still attached. I've heard they used what was on hand... some orange/orange... some white/orange... some even blue.

I can say for 100% certain that this Punch Out came with white buttons with orange collars. The same blue "glue" stuff that was on the buttons was on many of the screws/nuts throughout the cabinet/CPO.

As for the stick, a VS stick works fine, but you need Mikesarcade 4-way restrictor...and you will need the upgrade to the DUCK PULL stick... it includes a longer shaft with threads on the bottom, a plate for the bottom of the stick and the microswitch/holder to attach to the stick for the pull/duck function. Also note, unlike most buttons, that button is wired to the NORMALLY CLOSED pin on the microswitch and has to be mounted so it's closed unless you pull the stick at which time it opens the contact.

I refuse to believe that Nintendo ever used different color buttons with collars. That smells like OP quick fixes. Anyone can buy loctite.

You don't need the duck pull stick for normal punch-out, only super.
