and all I have is a Top2049 right here.

The TopWin is borrowed from a friend and the manual is almost useless.
It has 'compatible' devices in it, namely a GAL16V8, but it comes up with useless '1's all over the board.

I've got a DataI/O 29B with a Unipak2 cartridge, but no go. I think I've got a LogicPak somewhere, but I've searched.

My buddy also lended me his BP Microsystems BP1140, but it doesn't seem to support it either.

I sure don't want to try and map this out by hand. It looks like 8 pins on one side are configured as inputs and 8 on the right are outputs. I suppose if I brute-forced it, I could get it summarized and then burned back into a more recent compatible chip.

Any suggestions?

Send it to Steph or somebody?

GAL chips have an EEPROM style fuse map and the PAL chips have fuse links that are blown by sending voltage pulses down specific pins to target them. They are read differently so you won't be able to read the PAL chip by putting it in a programmer that only handles GAL chips.

Also, there's a security fuse that if blown renders the device unreadable. If that's the case then you just have to send/read signals to try to reverse engineer the chip.
