What is the correct blackbulb I need to buy for my Battlezone and Asteroids Deluxe cabs. I bought some at Lowes, but they just don't seem right. I have seen other cabs that seem a little brighter while still giving the correct glow.

Any Suggestions?

My city has a large light bulb company. Guess what it is called? "The Light Bulb Company" They stock pretty much everything (including the correct black light bulbs for the games that use them), and can even get the nintendo bulbs and starters and call you when they come in. I am sure that grand rapids, mi isn't the only city with light bulb wholesalers.

Interesting -- what starter does this bulb use for BZ?

Mine takes about 5 seconds to really light up -- bad starter?

I have a spare FS-2 here but not sure it's the right one.

It is interesting that the arcade games draw you in with the same glow as a bug zapper! :)

We have a HUGE light bulb store called "Watts Up", the place takes up most of a city block.

The funny thing is- THEY'VE NEVER HAD ANY FRIGGIN BULB I EVER NEEDED!!!!

It must be a front for some secret government entity, sort of like an Area 51 maybe.

Oh -- I should have been more clear.

It's my marquee bulb on my BZ that is now having trouble starting, not the black light. Is the FS-2 still the correct part?

Just beware. I work in the electrical field and supposedly the government outlawed MOST T-12 style bulbs. As in they won't make them anymore. Some specialty bulbs will continue to be made though. I think it was called Epact.

Personally, I would use a Blue Black Light bulb. I replaced the standard white black light bulb in mine, and the phosphorescence from the blue is soooo much better.

Yes, it is also a FS-2

Thanks!

Now I just have to figure out how to get to it... I guess take the periscope thingy off by removing the 3 screws at the top of the cab and the 3 screws at the bottom of the periscope thingy.

Hopefully that will also give me access to the tinted film that I need to replace.

yup, there are three screws on top, and three screws on the bottom, and the periscope will come off. Then you can remove the assembly that has the bulbs in it. There are two screws holding that assembly in place.
Also thats the best time to do some cleaning on the mirror and monitor.....:D

Cool, thanks!

Sounds like a project for this weekend.

Anything else to be aware of like the guts spilling out when I take the periscope off?
