The monitor frame says Disco, and has a sticker for tube 19vKUp22.. but the tube itself is an RCA and has a sticker 19VMNP22.. also one sticker has a G07 in it, but it may just be concidence as part of that model /serial number.. any idea what monitor this is? it is firing up, but has lines running through it (raster?) and not displaying a picture.

well, i missed that on his site. .but the picture isnt exactly the same. the brightness is in a different location.. but if this is true, then my google searches basically are telling me that i need to get a new chassis, as the flybacks arent available for this anymore, correct?

If you're getting even part of a picture then your flyback is probably ok. I would cap it before looking to swap the chassis.

Looks like someone stuck an Electrohome G07 tube on your Disco frame/chassis.

And I agree with what's been stated.....if you've got raster, your flyback is (more than likely) fine.

I agree the fly back is likely okay, but if I recap it, there is the possibility of the new caps stressing the old flyback, and kabam! Blown flyback.. If this was my personal monitor, I wouldnt care and would address it if it ever occurred. But this is for a multicade and will be sold. I don't want to have to address it at that point- especially event the time involved would be about the same for a new chassis swap or a cap kit.

I will be looking to do a tube swap anyway, so maybe a 8liners is in my future.

That only seems to be an issue with Electrohome G07's.....plus you're not going to find a new Disco flyback.

Thats my point exactly. Why put time into a disco chassis to repair/recap because if something should happen then I am out the time and (minimal) money.
