Need to borrow a Galaga 88 NOS cpo or non-faded panel

Im in the the middle of repro'ing these and color matching would be better if I had something to work from. The art was recreated from one that's been relatively faded.

In return for your help I will return your art with 2 repro cpos.

Please contact me directly at [email protected]

Thank you
Darin

I love Galaga '88 but can't get over the hideous artwork on the cabinet. Atari really failed when designed the US version of the cabinet. If I were rich I would totally build a new Midway Galaga style cabinet, and design artwork for Galaga '88 based on the Japanese version of the game. Just look at the great artwork on the Japanese Flyer:

And this is what Atari gives us:

I wonder what the Japanese version of the cabinet looked like. I figure they might have moved to generic candy cabinets by then.

That Japanese art looks great! Our version was a major fail. As bad as it looks I like the game and am hoping to restore mine if this stuff becomes available.

That is why I am avoiding getting a cab with the game. I think I will just get the board and run it in either my Galaga or Gaplus cabinet. Hard to find though.

I like those style of cabs! I believe Dragon Spirit and Pacmania also used the same style of cab..

Kinda weird since Pacmania and Dragon Spirit had awesome sideart, and then you get this major disappointment called sideart....

The artwork is better on those, but the monitor is all up in your grill. The Japanese and Midway (Galaga/Pac) cabinets have the monitor much more angled. Those Atari cabinets just look like converted Centipedes.

I can't stand playing Galaga 88 in the original cabinet because of the orientation of the screen. It plays so much better to me in a Galaga cabinet.

i was thinking about doing a run of the side art but there seems to be little interest so i may just get a couple done via inkjet and call it good.
