I got this machine in partially working order ( as in lights work) and trying to troubleshoot it and made some progress but now stuck again. After it powers up when the ball is in ball trough it will not kick the ball out to the plunger. If you pull the ball out and play it will score and misc. Another problem probably related to first problem is the out holes will not recognize either. No fuses are blown on main block on bottom of cabinet or the one on the playfield. I have cleaned the contacts also but it seems like that is not a problem also.
When the game is in its start-up routine when you push the start button and you push the switch under the playfield and see the solenoid switch moving but it seems like it is not getting a lot of power to kick the outhole solenoids. If you hold it down it will kick the outhole solenoids after the 4-5 clicks give or take since it is going very rapidly. Any ideas on what I should check next.

First make sure the contacts on the switch for the outhole are clean and adjusted properly so that when the ball is lying in there the switch is making contact if this is all good check the reset relay this should power your out hole switch. I'll have to dig up my schematic.

possibly the coil sleeve is dirty and creating more resistance to keep the plunger from moving nice and easy. clean the whole assembly

sounds like its trying to work but you are having a mechanical problem

A dirty switch on the score motor could be the culprit. I was having the same issue on my Grand Prix and cleaning that switch fixed the issue.

Finally got the pinball working for the most part. It was dealing with the score motor switches plus a few other things. I cleaned the switches and readjusted them again and she is running again. So thank you again craigmack and the others for your ideas. I have a few little things left to do but finally played a few games and I love it so far and not a bad deal for the $50 we spent on it.

Not a bad deal at all... i paid $200 for mine but all it needed was fuses and its in mint condition, but its cool there worth $500 to $600 mint so i did good, sounds like you did to would like to see some pics.

Added pictures of my Space Mission. Still have some lights to replace, some adjusting of the top outholes, and to make it so more then just one person can play. Either way one person can play at a time and that is cool enough for me till I get to dig into it better. Future plans for it is to make a stencil of the cabinet artwork and sand it down and repaint the cabinet. Also to redo the artwork on the playfield around the flipper area.
