Need sync help with a WGM2574

that's good that all the video wiring checks out.

yes all the grounds on the JAMMA harness are tied together.

keep us posted.

i have the open barrel crimpers on my site which are way better then the waldon crimper and it crimps everything that it takes two different models of waldons to crimp and you can't over crimp and break the back of the pin and these crimp both wire and jacketing in one crimp.

You can get a USA made BCT-1 for $28 on Great Plains. I personally would rather crimp just the wire first and make sure it's tight before crimping the housing.

the one i sell BTW is the same exact crimpers Dokert uses to make all those wire harness back when he was doing them. they are great and i have never had a problem with anything loose. less user error issues with an open barrel crimpers like mine then those ones where you crimp wire and jacketing separately.

This thread is over five years old but the note about the horizontal pot being located on the deflection board really saved me today. Still can't get this WGM2574 to adjust horizontally or vertically in any sort of good picture. It's almost impossible to stop from rolling completely. At any rate, thanks for the help. :)

not being able to stop rolling is a sync issue likely and i would check the 700 section and some of them can be the ICs which if they have proper voltage to them then you can only replace to check them. i would also cap it and make sure to reflow solder especially on the video input header.

Thank you for the advice! The WGM2574 chassis and the K7400 monitor are from an Arcade Legends cocktail table (early 2000s) from Chicago Gaming Company. The PC was missing so I'm attempting to hook up a new one with Windows 10 Pro.

The cabinet uses a USBLinx for an interface between the PC and the controls and CRT. I have an ATI HD 5450 (low profile) card with a DVI/DMS-59 connection port. I've tested the monitor with the PC without the USBLinx and the rolling picture results are the same.

I installed CRT Emudriver software and I can see the Windows desktop environment on the CRT. I followed installation instructions to the letter. Because the video card only had one analog output, I chose Analog_0 for EDID emulation.

I can't settle down the horizontal settings to save my life. I've spent hours attempting to adjust the H and V holds and position settings on the remote and also the one H-hold pot on the main board. It simply won't stop rolling.

I'll move ahead with checking the items you listed along with installing a cap kit. After reading what I listed above, is there anything else that stands out that you might recommend? Thanks heaps!
