Picked up an OutRun cabinet a few weeks back and just got around to diagnosing why there's no sound output. Turned out to be pretty simple; the sound amp was completely missing. I did use a hatchet job set of spliced wires and some computer speakers to verify that the audio is in fact playing (if not a bit flaky sounding). And while I could just opt to cleanly install some self-powered speakers and splice them a bit more properly into the sound output, I'd prefer to make it as original as possible.
So to that end, if anyone has a working sound amp (Sega part # 839-0035; used in OutRun, Super Hang-on, Afterburner, Thunderblade) that they'd like to sell, I'd love to pick it up off of you for a fair price. I checked eBay, and all the ones I found on there seem to be for more modern systems (Naomi, etc.).
Thanks in advance for any help!
