I've been working on games for a fun center thats just getting started. Pretty much got all the vid's and pin's done (except for lost world, thats another post). Now I'm trying to help them get some redemption games going which I've never really gotten into before. Here's a few that I know need to be addressed:

Smokin' Token - glitched displays
Raceway - chasing lamps not working
Monopoly - chasing lamps not working
Mesmerizer - wheel spins but chasing lamps do not, cannot hit red so the game can't end

I havent gone into deep diagnostics with these yet and haven't google'd anything hyet either. But if anyone has some advice or can point me in the right direction it would really help me out.

Smokin token: if memory serves... Plugging in display while machine has power will damage board. I also think you can connect cable backwards on the board... Causing this damage. Solution, replace board w new from BAYTEK. (yes I know it says siedel on marquee, but BAYTEK bought them out)

Raceway, I think it's a driver board that is notorious for burning up. May be transisitor related

Monopoly... Stern?? Check fuses and bridge rectifiers

Smokin' Token - glitched displays

Seidel or Bay-Tek version? Never seen it myself, but the Seidel version manual claims that this is caused by hotplugging the displays, which blows a chip on the mainboard. If you don't have the manual I can go see if I can find ours.

I'll take some more notes when I go there tomorrow. I believe Monopoly is Stern. I do know it had leaky alkaline batteries in it which I still need to replace (though I did remove them as soon as I noticed them).

Where can I find one of those bay-tek boards?

Smokin' Token is the Saidel version. It's not feeding tickets either and is constantly sounding an alarm unless I leave the safety switch off.

Also have a Bubba's Excavation with a brand new PCB, it also isnt feeding tickets and the swaying tracks are out of allignment. Also shows nothing on the displays.

Monopoly, stupid question. The interlock switches on the two big doors are closed, yes? Just asking, because I have overlooked the obvious before.

Big bubbas excavation. Should be the same basic setup as a dozers or big rig. Everything in the whole cabinet runs off of 12v. Check the small power distribution board carefully. They're known for bad solder joints or broken wires from the connectors. Check each wire, because I've seen broken wires that you'd never be able to tell without physically moving the wire. Chances are you have a problem there somewhere. If you still can't find the problem, unplug everything you can, and start plugging in one thing at a time until you find what causes your problem or blows a fuse (whichever). Hope this helps.

Almost guaranteed that PCB needs work :( are you thinking of trying to fix it yourself or just send it in? I think Bay-Tek still services Seidel boards.

Honestly I'm thinking this redemption stuff is over my head, but I'm willing to learn and I'm making a little cash on the side trying to do so.

Smokin token IMO. Order a new display from BAYTEK.
Ticket issue, inspect the wires that fall from ticket mech for about 12 inches. It's common for the wires to get pulled out of molex when accessing coin box. Also, a resistor is required between I THINK, the red/white wires. This is usually added at molex closest to ticket mech. If alarm continues, verify the mech is good in a different machine. Also, ensure the notches cut in the tIckets are sized correctly. Sometimes tickets get cut off center, resulting in a notch that is too small for the opto to recognize

Here's what its looking like as of today...

They are looking at bringing another person in to help with the redemption stuff. Until then I am making very slow progress with it.
