Need some reassurance that I have the correct plan of action to adjust convergence
So I've never dealt with working on convergence much. I've read up on the general procedures, but just wanted the run the details by some more experienced people here first to make sure I'm not going overkill.
My arcade monitor/chassis is some 25" Kortek in a Neo Geo cab (not sure what model, but there are some pictures here: http://imgur.com/a/Hk9IR ).
Additionally, here are some pictures showing what the convergence looks like currently: http://imgur.com/a/VjamE
1.) I don't think the pictures show it too well, but there's very mild convergence issues in the center of the screen. This can be adjusted via the rings on the back of monitor. It looks a little tedious to me, but not too horrible to perform.
2.) However, the big issue is the horrible convergence on the corners and edges of the screen. From what I've read, when the convergence is good (or relatively good) in the center of the screen, but horrible on the edges/corners then this will require adjusting the yoke. Now from the look of things, as far as I can tell the yoke is still in the position it was when it left the factory (rubber wedges look undisturbed, old white adhesive holding them in place). Is adjusting the yoke really my only realistic option here? That's the part that i'm fearful of just making things look worse due to never having dealt with that before.
3.) Another smaller issue unrelated (I assume) to convergence is something I can only maybe describe as ghost foldover. On the right side of the screen you can see a fainter blue line by itself. This moves when I adjust the horizontal position of the screen, as if it's folding around the back of the screen. In-game it mostly manifests as making that portion of the screen look a bit brighter (but maybe it would have a more distinguishable look if convergence was properly adjusted).
Am I pretty much correct on 1 and 2? I'm really not looking forward to adjusting the yoke unless my only other option is tediously placing 50 convergence strips. I didn't know if buying a Wells Gardner chassis to swap out could possibly help the issue.
Let me know your more informed opinions
