need some pictures of wiring connected to paperboy pcb

If someone could be so kind, I have a working paperboy and an almost working paperboy.

Mine (working) has some hacked wires down by the switcher and going into the molex to the control panel, but all of the wires connecting to the board are original and unhacked.

Paperboy #2 (partially working) appears to be unhacked altogether. The problem is, there is one less molex style plug on this paperboy coming off of the board into the control panel molex. Position j103 (I think) simply isn't there.

Can I get some decent pics of the molex style connectors coming from your board and maybe of the harness end of the control panel?

I need to decide if mine is dead stock. I suppose if I got a manual or schematic I could look up what each pin is supposed to do to control movement and buttons on the control panel?

My control panel has 10 of the 12 spots in the molex with wires coming from it going to the board or the switcher.

Paperboy #2 has either 8 or 9, and hasn't been hacked at all.

I will try to get pics of my own up after the camera charges.

here are a couple of pics.
pic 1: my working game, nothing hacked in that section but some hacking present near the switcher.
pic 2: partially working game with no control of the controls.
obvious difference is the first pic has a connector below the top 2 in the pic, that connector feeds into the control panel molex
not so obvious: the bottom 2 molex shown in each picture. My bottom 2 have 4 wires each. The 2nd machine has 4, and 3 wires respectively.

pic 3: just shows that my 12 pin molex uses 10 spots, whearas pic 4 shows the pic of the other molex only using 8 or 9 of the 12 spots.
pics 3 and 4 are of the 12 pin molex that connects directly into the control panel.

my first thought is, something is missing to connect to the top board similar to my board, that should be running to the control panel.

I am not sure if mine is original.
The 2nd machine is paperboy #000001. The bottom board has an edge connector being used vs. the molex, so there are some differences.

for the record I have pulled the top board (pictured) from machine 2 and tested it as working in my machine, controls and all, using my wiring set-up.

I am considering rewiring everything from the board to the control panel with new wires, new molex (ide connectors? is that what they are really called?) and
rewire the control panel completely as well.
that would be a resort I am not very interested in honestly.

bumping this for some pics of other paperboys out there please.

as promised, here are two pictures of my setup. from what i can see, they look identical to one of your setups. pictre two is the molex connector which connects right into the control panel!

well on both of my boards there are 2 more smaller connectors lower on the board that both run into the control panel.
Your wiring set up appears to be like the partially working paperboy I have. Curious why mine uses the extra connector. I can't find a schematic
to tell me what each pin is supposed to be doing.

found a schematic, it shows J102 and J106 as the control panel wiring. I clearly have wires coming out of J103 going to the control panel.

..............

one was probably a champ sprint converted to paperboy. I think there are extra wires for CS.

ok that makes reasonable sense. The main cpu board says super sprint on it. It apepars to be the same exact board as the paperboy (and the 5 extras I have) main pcb.

I suppose that could be player 2 wiring then? Odd that it is used on my game.

I have seen swapped boards, add apb to the mix too..

The controls are on different connectors for the games. So if you were wondering why there are unused connectors, thats why... CS uses pots for pedals and optical encoders. Paperboy just uses pots. The wiring is also slightly different for the pedal pots and the handle bar pots. But I would think you could play paperboy with the pedals..
