So a buddy of mine has a fairly good condition 1979 Buck Rogers pin by Gottlieb. The back glass could use a bit of love, and needs a few voltage regulators replaced on the driver board, but other then that its solid, has been shopped fairly recently and has all new rubbers. He's wanting to trade me for my decent condition Tempest, that could also use some love. I just bought a new deflector for it and got the mainboard to live again. Sides are in decent shape, cabinet is solid, marquee and CP are in great shape for their age...
So of course the question is, is that a fair trade? Its not a matter so much of either being something I'm emotionally tied to....neither has ever been on my grail list. I'm thinking purely potential resale/trade value towards a grail at some point. To restore both to near-factory new will cost roughly the same, maybe $250 at most, and time-wise, they'll each be about the same to restore.
