need some MAME info and ideas

Glad you're still keeping up the same pattern of:

1: asking for advice
2: completely ignoring said advice because you know better

If you would learn how to use Google, you would already know that soft15khz and AVGA are pretty much your only two options, and soft15khz probably won't work for your card.

Edit: actually, looks like this guy has soft15khz working with your card: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31a8WidIB8Y

thats the shit ive been finding but have yet to get to work in my setup hence why im asking for help here. I havent ignored shit here, If some out there have gotten their 8800gtx's to work with an arcade monitor than why cant I is the question and once that answer gets figured out it will probably clarify if I need to get an arcadevga card or not. Really looking for someone that has dealt with this issue and not just went the arcadevga route which Im seeing proof all over that its been done without the help of arcadevga. I do appreciate the advice here just wish I could get an answer on this and not bashed.

Quit being an arrogant prick and you'll probably stop being bashed.

Is your monitor medium res? If so, that may explain what you are seeing.

Its a cga, its a stock monitor that came in a MK2 cab. Not sure the model number though it looked like a wells at first glance. Im being arrogant trying to do my homework and figure out a problem instead of throwing more money at the problem? Buying an arcadevga when its quite possible that this card can work with the right settings and setup would be arrogant. All the games in my sig ive restored, most from DOA status. Im not a noob at this, just at MAME.

And with that, my assistance is done. Good luck!

I haven't read through this thread, but if you haven't tried already, I had used Powerstrip to get CGA and EGA resolutions in the past. I'm far from an expert on this though, and it was several years ago. But why do you want to use such a high power card for this? AFAIK no game in MAME takes advantage of any sort of hardware acceleration. I personally used Powerstrip with an onboard video card on an older Dell (P4 2.8GHz), and it worked fine.

If you wouldve read through I explained this. I think the issue lies with getting a 15khz signal to the monitor via this card and Im not sure how other than the EDID dongle or arcadevga but have heard its possible.
