I pretty much got a MK2 cabinet with a KI cp with brand new happ buttons and joysticks mounted and wired ready to go. Just curious what kind of pc power I would need to be able to run this with no glitches or slowdown on anything MAME related IE the street fighters that are known for slowing things down, etc. Also do I need a Jpac adapter and if not how do I hookup my PC to this arcade monitor? Would also like some links to where I could dl the latest MAME bootable image.

Well your really at the wrong site too be asking this. All i can say is please don'nt MAME this .

The guy I bought it from had it MAME'd before me dude. It doesnt even have side art anymore. Its far from dedicated so why not MAME it? And how the fuck can you have a sig that big and not others?

Mame

GL If your not wanting too restore the cab you should'nt put MAME in the title.

There is no slow down if your ever running a ARCADE PCB. Now running a puter MAME For this games is a completely different story ..

Thanks for all your help and all your gems of helpful information you have bestowed upon me. How can I ever thank you? Oh and youre full of shit if you claim that no arcade pcb ever has slowdown.:) If Im not wanting to restore a cab wtf does not putting MAME in the title do for anything? I look forward to future interactions of ingenius proposal with you.

coinoplove.com has my MAME conversion. It was a smash TV before - it said "I'll buy that for a dollar" when I was standing next to it at the auction, so I won it.... and I LOVED converting it. LOL

Arent there enough MK's in this world????? Its not like its 1 out of 100 ever made...

Yes, you would all kill for a MK, but are you willing to PAY for it with all the cost of converting back a hack job?

we're kind of into restoring games back to original here - its basicly the whole point of VAPS - or Video Arcade Preservation Society.
Here is where you should be asking your mame questions - http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/

Wow, someone actually thinks with reason on here? lol shocking!!

Yeah. I'm gettin a bit tired of the condecending "don't mame that" line. You will never convince me that 48 or 60 in 1ing a game is "better or superior" in any way than mame. In fact, the way I see things, creating a dedicated mame is "truer" to the original games in many instances. A 48 in 1 is a nice, easy way to make a boat anchor cabinet into a potential revenue earning machine, even if it's illegal. It's another story to take a nice classic Atari cabinet and put every arcade control known to man on it and attempt to play all 4000 video arcade games ever made. I never ask mame questions here because I know I'll get flamed. BYOAC is the way to go if you want to create something with a bit of imagination.

Now is when I get involved. There's no slowdown playing MK, MKII, or MKIII when playing on a proper MAME rig...

...that said, if the OP is looking for answers to MAME questions, he's going to be much happier asking them at www.arcadecontrols.com...

yet you have a galaga 60n1 and multi cabs. lol

yes, i do. on the galaga cab, i also have an original boardset that it takes all of 30 seconds to unplug the galaga to jamma adapter to, and plug back in.
The rest of the multi's all run original hardware, and the multi switch setup is plug and play into the original harnesses. Again, about 2 minutes and every bit of the "multi" can be removed, and the original hardware pcb plugged right back into the original harness. Furthermore, none of my control panels are hacked.
Anyway, i wasn't trying to give you greif, i could care less. Just trying to let you know where you'd get much better answers without all the flak.

yeah but then you have to add in the please dont mame this comment. Even if I took a dedicated cab and put a pc in it, cant that be undone and the original pcb put back in its place? If you have something to add then just add it but no need to put the stupid "dont mame this, please restore it" comments when you do the same damn thing. Im doing nothing that would potentially come close to making any cabinet I use not be able to be restored to its original condition. I just dont understand why all the stupid comments.
