So I'm running a premade pi image and strangely every once in a while it just "dies". What I mean by that is all the files are still there but it just will not boot anymore. This has happened 2 or 3 times in the last couple of years. The only way I can it to boot again is to reflash the image to the micro sd and start from scratch. Which means I have to set it up again from square one, (reset all my in game retroarch settings, pi settings, control settings, resolution settings, favorites list, etc.) So my question is, are there specific files or folders I can pull from my currently working micro sd so that if (probably when) this happens again, I can just copy that file/folders over to my freshly flashed micro sd so that it will be setup just as it was before the crash?
