I am looking to make an addition to my home arcade, but for the life of me I cannot remember the name. I do remember some of the details. It is a aircraft scrolling shooter game. Screen scrolls vertically. I think you could pick from 3 or 4 different aircraft. During game play you could upgrade weapons multiple times. Weapon upgrades would shift between different weapons until you picked it up. The one weapon I remember started as a small blue laser that would get increasingly bigger with upgrades. The laser would lock on to one enemy and then would loop around the screen to damage other enemies. I remember playing the game during the 90s. If anyone has any clue what the name of this game is please let me know. Thanks.

Sounds like one of the Strikers 1945 series of games...

not 1943. i already have that one in the game room. this game was newer. i think it came out in the 90s.

i thought it was one of the neo geo games. a buddy of mine thought it was one of the aero fighter games but i have looked at all of them and it's not. checked out the 1945x games as well.

One of the later Raiden games had a purple lazer that would lock on to an enemy & form a bit of a squiggly loop-de-loop around the screen, zapping other enemies in the process. Super fun.

1941? It's the newer sequel to 1942 and 1943.
Edit: Never mind. I'm not sure what the game is..

played this game in college around 1992. I think it was aero fighters or part 2.

Raiden II. The first Raiden didn't have the lock on looping lazer (just straight ahead and spread shot).
