Hi all,
Im trying to replace killer instinct arcade machine boot rom, and it doesn't appear to be coming out easily. I dont wanna force it and possibly break something. Is there a special tool I should be using or a certain procedure. Thanks!

Yes. The special tool is called a "small flat head screwdriver". Gently slide the screwdriver under the chip but between it and the socket, and lever gently. Do it a little on one side, then on the other, until the chip comes out.

Insert the new chip, paying careful attention to the orientation of the notch, and making sure you don't bend any of the pins.

There do exist specialty chip removal tools, but they're garbage, and you'll bend the hell out of the pins trying to get the chip out with one.
