Have a Defender cab that i received gutted. I have fabricated a control panel and laid it out for a Multi-Willams. I primered/sanded the board a few times and am now planning on getting artwork printed for it. I have the artwork already made up, just need to print, apply, and seal.

Here are some of the questions I have.

1) Suggestions on where to get it printed.

2) What kind of paint should I use on it before applying the overlay?

3) Once the CPO is on should I seal it in anyway?

Thanks for any input you have!

With regards to printing a custom cpo, I know mamemarquees.com does this. prOk of gamestencils.com and possibly Rich of thisoldgame.com may also print custom cpos but I'm not sure.

As for paint before applying a cpo I would think that would depend on how much of the paint would be visible after the cpo was applied. If not very much will be visible I would simply use something like a rustoleum satin black paint in an aerosol can. Probably a good idea to let the paint dry overnight. Basically you are just giving the cpo a good surface to adhere to.

As for sealing a cpo, if you are asking if you should apply a clear coat of paint after the cpo is installed? My answer is no. Now since this is a defender cab you might consider mounting a piece of plexi over the cpo as the original defender cpo had less of a standard cpo look and more of a screened plexi look. Plexi or no plexi either way should be fine.
