Time to upgrade the soldering iron. I've looked through past threads and it seems there are numerous opinions on what is the best. What I want to know is what in my price range would work best for my needs. Looking to spend $200-300 although less is always nice. I'll probably mostly be doing cap kits but some board repair. Hopefully more board repair in the future. Originally I was thinking of just upgrading to a nice soldering station but after looking it might be nice to have a soldering and rework station. The hot air desoldering might be nice to have. So can anyone point me in the direction of a quality unit or even two separate units? One for soldering one for desoldering. Within in my price range of course.

if you are spending that kinda dough , go Hakko. I spent 109 on my weller WES51D and been happier than hell with it. I have bought a couple tips for it , but just to have variety for the boards I am working with

Sometimes places like Parts Express will have specials on soldering equipment. You may want to hit them up, just for the sake of doing so.
