The Sea Devil game I just picked up is missing the ship control unit in the bottom of the rear cabinet. I was hoping someone out there would have an extra that they would sell or possibly knew where I could find one? Any help is appreciated.

Parts

I have the part or parts you need. You can reach me at 609 390 0995. Ask for Joe.

Installed ship unit and only problem now is torpedo will not turn to left or right when trying to aim with periscope. And also score lights not activating when ships are sunk.. Everything else seems to be working fine. I have tried changing the wiring position on the course direction relays for the torpedo aiming mechanism. But now It will not turn at all. Before it would at least turn to the left.

Torpedo Unit Working

I was able to rewire the torpedo unit and it now is turning left and right when a shot is fired.
Thanks Mike and Joe for all your help on this.

Now I just need to figure out why the score is not working. Any ideas out there?

Does the stepper unit for the scoring look alright and works when game is turned off and manually operated?

No, it looks like the stepper unit is corroded. Going to disassemble it today and get it loosened up again. Got the score to light up and work when I moved it manually.

All Systems Are Go..! Working

The shafts that the stepper unit latches rotate on we're all gummed up. Cleaned them with Gumout and reassembled. Added some Teflon lube to the shaft also. Games works great now..! Hallaleuah....!! Another classic brought back to life. Another big thank you to all that assisted in this revival. I could not have done it with out your help.

What shall be my next project.... Hmmm. Time to start looking again. Have my sights on a rifle game I think. Not sure yet.

Problem Again :-(

After Soldering the wires back to the torpedo control unit, The steering problem with the torpedo returned again. ( Had them jumpered) The wires all seem to be correct but it's not steering to the left again. Cannot figure out why soldering wires would cause this problem. Any ideas out there?

Perhaps the fine wire used on the coil has become disconnected/broken. Is there a separate coil for left and right movement? If so, you could try measuring the resistance of each coil? Is there also a diode and capacitor used in the steering circuit?

There are capacitors used for each coil. Yes there are separate coils for left and right steering.
Haven't measured the resistance of the coils yet. Will try that today.

Working Again

I got the game working again. Finally just moved the periscope by hand and it looks like it must've had dirty contacts. So there you have it strange but true. Just got done playing a bunch of games forgot how much fun this game was...!
Thanks again to Joe for your help. You Rock Bro..!
