Picked up a Mortal Kombat 2 board on ebay. Doesnt seem to be working right. I am testing it in my UMK3 game which works fine. Looks like 2 or 3 sound roms fail at startup. Thats not a big deal to me since the sound still works.

But it looks like I have a graphics issues. From what I can see, whenever SubZero or Scorpion are on the screen, they flicker I would say into long lines and then back, and keeps doing it. It does not happen with any of the other characters at all.

Looking at what I found while searching, it sounds like bad roms. How do I go about getting some replacements, or possibly knowing which roms they could be. Thats if the guy that bought it from wont take it back.

Before you go buying or replacing any roms, I have had similar issues with many boards that turn out to be bent socket feet on the solder side of the PCB that were touching each other. Start by looking at the socket feet for the roms that check bad, then check all the socket feet on the board to make sure NONE are touching one another. That might fix your problem. If not, then you may actually have bad roms. This is just my experience. Watch this...

I just went through the board after your posting. Didnt see any touching. I did see a couple close to each other so I moved them apart some. Still has the same issue though with only those 2 characters.

Was your glitch across the board for the game, or certain characters or levels?

It was everything. Once the game got past the "Mortal Kombat/Insert Coin" screen, backgrounds, characters, energy bars, everything was glitched over. Those bent socket feet was the cause of it all. Straightened them out and everything was fine.

Well, the guy I bought it from lives local and he said he had another boardset. So I am gonna meet up and swap the boards
