I posted this in the "General Repair" forum and didn't get any response...hopefully someone here can help.

I'm finishing up an Atari Centipede Cocktail. All that's left is touch up, but my big problem is that the previous owner got rid of the front access panel. I have no idea how this is supposed to attach to the main cocktail (hinges/security bar....?)

Can someone either describe what this thing is and/or take a picture of one for me to see? It looks like Im going to be making a template and cutting one out this weekend.

Any help would be apprectiated.

Thanks!

I have an Arkanoid cocktail I'm working on that was originally a Centipede cocktail. I have the front access door off right now but I can definitely take pics of how it is supposed to look. But I can tell you right now that it's held with a security bar.

Thanks for the reply....I can easily make a new door, but I've never seen how the security bar fits into the thing (or what it looks like for that matter)...

I'd really appreciate it if you could post some pics. Thanks!

I'm out all evening, but I can try to take pics later tonight. If not tonight, then tomorrow. :)

Alright I will try and explain this and hopefully it makes sense.

-There is a piece of flat bar that goes behind a bracket right at the top of the cocktail, I have drawn a square around the top of the flat bar.

-After the bar passes through this bracket it goes on down and slides under the same style bracket on the back of the access panel.

-The flat bar bottoms out on the bottom of the cab.

-My second pic shows the flat bar and the access panel removed from the cocktail. If you want any other photos let me know.

Okay, here's the pics from the Centipede cocktail:

The bracket goes in the socket inside the front of the machine and slides down, hence locking it in place.

Hope that helps.

Strange...I have a Dig Dug cocktail and my door is attached differently. On mine, there is a metal bit on each end of the door that rotates clockwise/counterclock wise. You simply put the door in to place, then rotate each metal bit so that it sticks out on each end thereby holding the door in to place. You rotate each metal bit by reaching down while the top is swung open...

Sorry for the delay. I couldn't find my original pics so I just took these a few minutes ago. In Warlords, there is a u-shaped metal bar that feeds through a guide in the cocktail and the panel. Hopefully the pics make it clear how it works:

That's the way it looked on my Asteroids Deluxe cocktail, that U-shaped bar. My centipede has the staight bar like the previous photos. I actually need to have a new access panel cut. If you make one, I'd be interested in buying another from you, if you made an extra.

Let me see what I can do...it won't be a problem to make two...just gotta find a corresponding piece for the new access panel that the security bar can fit through...Will check Home Depot and see what they have that can work....Bob Roberts had three security bars on his "junk page", but he emailed me late last night that one of his relatives mistakenly threw them away and they're no longer available :(

Trickman...your pics didn't show...can you try re-uploading?

I uploaded them to this site in my album. You really can't see the pics below? Can anyone else see them?

If nothing else, click on my username and look at the first pics in my album. The main thing you have to remember is that inside the actual cocktail is an identical bracket holder that the bars go through (3rd pic). You have to slide the bar through that one and then through the one on the panel below it (2nd pic) to hold it in place.

Nope...still can't see the pics. There's only two pics in your album from my end...both of the Frogger sound repair. Don't see anything with a cocktail. :(

I got around to taking a picture of mine. It seems that originally, mine had the bar that went down the middle, but some engineer added these (makes it easy):

That's really strange... I can see them on my computer at home and my computer at work, no problem. Are you using Firefox as your browser?

Seriously, can anyone else besides me see them?

Hmmm... when's the last time you updated to the latest version of your browser?

In any case, I'll try to re-up the pics later. Sorry u can't see them.
