Defender: Need Photo of installed Memory Protect Interlock Switch

from the info i have i just cant tell where the Williams Defender memory protect interlock (for the coin door) should be mounted and what it strikes against, so I need a few photos from the inside of the cab showing

- where it is mounted on or next to the coin door (and its orientation)
- what the interlock plunger strikes against to close the switch
- with coin door open showing striker and open interlock switch

the defender parts catalogue copy i have is very grainy, so any help much appreciated !

Cheers!

Uh....for what game? And I guess from the last part that is the interlock on the coin door?

It is oriented horizontally on the left hand side at the bottom of the coin door opening. I don't have time to see if my Defender has it still mounted, but you shuld be able to find the original screw holes if you look in that corner.

Ah. You have the silver door. The black door Defenders had it mounted low on the left hand side. Learn something new every day...

Actually that machine isn't mine. My machine didn't have any coin mechs, and once I got some I didn't have the brackets to hold them in. That pic shows the brackets, and from there I was able to make my own. I forget where I found that picture, but without it I might still be mechless. :)

Out of curiousity, what is the purpose of this interlock switch? My Joust doesn't have one, but I remember seeing it in the wiring diagrams.

The coin door interlock is there to prevent changes in game settings unless the coin door is open.

Thanks guys! i have the silver door, no mem protect switch bracket, so now i know where to mount it and the type of bracket needed!

i have also found other photos of williams coin doors (pinballs and early 80's vids like sinistar, biubbles splat ) that also show mem protect interlock switch behind coin door upper left near the service switches.

funny how it is always easy to find something once you know where to look!

Cheers! :D
