just as the title says need someone to check and repair mt flash pcbs..
was working fine then no voltage to the coin box.
really want to get the pcbs redone...
anyone do pcb repair???????
im sure i have a few more that need a fixin as well

Flash is a System 4 / 6 game just FYI (part were made system 4 then later runs of the game actually used system 6 boards.)

As for as missing power goes, not sure what you mean by "voltage to the coin box" Can you elaborate on this?

If it's a power supply board that needs to be rebuilt, those are actually pretty common rebuilds and a lot of people on these boards can rebuild them including myself and I have a rebuilt one that has been tested and is ready to be used. If you're having MPU & driver board issues, the 40pin interconnect is a great place to start.

Give us a bit more info, will help us determine what you're in need of.

sorry for the 3 type o...
im pretty sure its a power supply issue...im really bad at soldering and havent capped anything yet..
it was working 100% then no voltage to the coin box and she wont coin up.
im getting like a 1.5 for voltage on that.

pm "chris m" he is here in the dfw area and i know he does williams board repairs..

thanks!!!
after the other comment in this thread i checked the 40 pin connector...solder looks burnt and bubbly..

the foil is also coming off all over...
is it really just time for some new replacements?
rottendog?

Well.. foil isn't really of too much concern... if the solder looks "burnt", it's probably because someone replaced the 40 pin connector and didn't clean off the resin after the fact (just a guess)... You're more apt to see burnt connectors on the power supply board or the connector on the left hand side of the MPU.

If you think it's power related, and you have a DMM, you can verify if you are getting proper voltage from the power supply. The old pinrepair guide had a terrific step by step for testing voltages, but if you can't find it and want to check it the voltages yourself, I can probably glance at my notes and post what to do.

As an alternative, you can always set Flash to freeplay so you don't need to coin up :) In test mode, go to step 18 and set that to "00". it's the maximum credits value. setting to "00" makes it freeplay.

ill check all that thanks!!!...yeah the ps is really burned up...all the caps look roasted

If the PS has a lot of burnt pin headers, I have a rebuilt PS for system 4/6 I can sell with a rebuilt high voltage section and replaced caps including the big filter. I also replaced diodes as needed and burnt pin headers. PM me if interested.

That being said, you will probably want to replace the connectors where the pin headers are burned as that probably has some burn as well.
