I would like one that retains 100% original game play and saves high scores with initials. From doing searches it seems only Mike's 96-1 kit fits the bill. I guess I would just like confirmation from some pac masters that it doesnt alter gameplay like shilmovers and souzaonline's.

im wanting one that plays identical so i can pattern it as well as keep scores.

Exactly I figure i might wanna really learn the game. I have read the 2 kits mentioned dont have "tunnel creep" and that makes it hard to group the ghosts together. I would think that might effect all gameplay as well to a small degree.

What about Spaeth's kit? I seem to recall him spending time getting the speed of the intros in between mazes correct, but have never heard anyone complain about game play.

I never found an issue with Clay's 24-1 multi kit.....also on his kit the maze color for pac plus is correct, not so on the 96-1.

Yes his kit is nice and still available at Lizardlick. I used to have one. Did His save high scores tho? I cant remember. Any comments on gameplay on Clay's kit?

I'm glad the discussion has got going a bit. I love upgrade kits but if the gameplay isn't 100% accurate whats the point.

So we have

Clay's kit
Mike's Kit
Shilmovers's kit
Souza Online's kit
Spaeth's kit (no high score save)

Love Mark's kit. I got one of his first released kits and have ZERO problems with it. The 6-Pac kit does not save HS however.

What about what Riptor offers? I was in discussion with him for a board a few years ago ..slow version with hss.

Oh yeah, I forgot about tunnel creep. I thought Barry was working on a fix for that?

Last I heard a fix for this was unlikely because he thought it would require a hardware change. It's a bummer as I currently have the Souza one but would like to switch. The Souza one is a little bit buggy with regard to the high score screens/functionality so I'd like to switch but I'm not sure it's worth bothering if game play isn't spot on.

I think the 96-in-1 doesn't yet save scores for the different variants (ie. fast and regular share a high score). It sounds almost ideal if that were fixed.

We are working on that to be included in the next revision along with the ability to designate a "boot to" title if you'd like to just power the cab on and have it come up to a specific title you designate. The challenge is determining between cold and warm starts, but we're working around it.

I've got a birthday on the 10th and I was trying to get something done by then and kind of roll it into some kind of birthday promotion, I'll do my best.

Regarding accuracy, my kit's code has been running for years in collectors machines all over the world, it's not only stable and bug free, it's perfectly accurate play-wise. Pac Plus doesn't have a green maze, that's just a color PROM and would require a new layout and big upcharge which just isn't worth it.

Worth mentioning is Pengo on the 96 in 1, which is accurate and features the Popcorn music everyone seems to like. Here is my Project Blog with ordering info: http://revengeofthenerdsv.blogspot.com/

Excellent! Can't wait for the update! :)

Mike I'm def in your corner and want to order soon. maybe next thurs. I just want opinions :) "The boot to title" is the killer feature IMO. keeps it all inviso

The family is enjoying our Mike Doyle 96-in-1 a bunch. I did notice some issues, brought up here, that have yet to be answered : http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?p=1946761#post1946761

They're not huge, but still noticeable.
There was one I forgot, see if this pic gives you any clues (eat your heart out, Billy):

Awesome. The boot feature would be wonderful.
