I recently acquired an original NARC cabinet. The monitor needs to be replaced though. I believe it takes a 19" medium resolution monitor. I was hoping to get a monitor that will display standard and medium if possible. If it's too expensive i"ll stick with a regular though. I was looking online for one, but I don't want to get the wrong one by mistake. Can you guys please point me in the right direction, I'm still kinda new at this whole thing. Also. where's the best/cheapest place to get one? Thank you

Mike,
19" Monitors are hard enought to find in standard res nowadays, never mind med. as well. 19" CRT production recently stopped due to the amount of lead content in the monitors (at least, that's the reason I heard). As a result of this, 19" monitors are becoming very difficult to track down. There are LCD upgrade kits, but I don't know if it'll work for your application. How dead is your monitor? Is it at all possible to bring it back from the dead? Sorry I don't have any more answers for you, but maybe everybody here could help you get your original going again.

Billabs has a few tri-sync (CGA,EGA,VGA) 19"s left..

12, I was told a couple of weeks ago. They were $250 for 1 and a little cheaper for more..

Great picture on the monitors and they have a 5 year warranty

Oh, and I have a Narc that I would love to get rid of..non working

Thanks guys. The Narc Tube has a lot of burn and I think it needs a cap. I figure since I'm trying to restore the cabinet I should just get a new one. I will check out that billabs website, and if they are out I might consider the LCD, but I don't wanna sink too much money into this machine. I'm hoping whatever I swap it with doesn't need any modifications and can just go in place of the original. I don't wanna mess up my first monitor swap.

Pseeds -

Do u know if the chasis on that 19" tri-sync monitor that bryan95502 mentioned would be an even swap in the Narc Cabinet? I just want this to be as painless as possible. Thank you

You are going to swap the entire monitor out (chassis and tube in the frame) , correct? I assume it would fit where the current chassis and tube fits. You might want to take some measurements of the current monitor. I don't recall how the original NARC monitor mounts but I think it bolts down to the horizontal shelf. Take a look at yours to see how it mounts and find out if the replacement mounts the same way. I have not had to work on my NARC monitor at this point.

In short: I do not know 100% if it will work. Sorry. It sounds promising, though.

Yep, I'm gonna replace the whole thing chasis and all. I called that website that had the tri-sync monitor. They still have them in stock. It said under the picture that it is also available in a horizontal mounting frame, which I'm assuming is what I need. I'm at work right now, but when I go home I will take a look at how the monitor is secured. Thank you for your help.

if you need anymore narc parts let me know. I just got one last night but I am turning it into my jrok multiwilliams in the near future.
