i wish my heathkit had the right adapter.

which way do i start to count the pins? counter clockwise looking at the back of the tube with pin one being the one in the key is my guess.

if you look at the pictures, i should be building a CR 23 adapter right? for an 8 pin neck even though theres 9 pins?

Are you sure that second one doesn't have a pin broken off ?

Post the TUBE numbers and we can try and look them up.

the second tube is an A63ADG25X which says a CR 23 adapter fits. so im assuming its an 8 pin right? that means no pins are broken off thankfully. but i count 9 pins with the one in the key. but the info i got was from the BK info. i guess both heathkit and BK have the same # adapter ?

the first tube is a 088X3087-001 cant find anything on it.

am starting to get this but i dont want to fry something with 14 tubes to test.

Both of those are considered 10 pin tubes. Remember that not all pins are used and since some aren't used they aren't present. If you look at the schematic for the CR23 found here, http://arcarc.xmission.com/PDF_Monitors/BK_Precision_CR-23_CRT_Adapter.pdf

you can figure out how to count out the pins. Just remember to reverse the image, in fact it may be helpful to print out the image and put it against the tube.

As for the first tube number, it doesn't look right. What size is the tube and what chassis is currently connected to it?

all are 25" and have K7197 chassis.

the 8 pin are the symetrical looking sockets kinda right ?

what a maze here of figuring out without frying...

nah, on the K7000's they look like the regular 10 pin sockets just smaller.

and if they are 25" monitors then they are definitely not the small-neck 8 pin sockets (CR 31) but the regular 10 pin ones (CR 23.)

the socket i pulled off of the Kortek chassis has the numbers printed next to the pins on the neck (not PCB) side of the socket. might want to check if yours does too.

That 088X3087-001 looks like a Wells Gardner part number of sorts, but I didn't come up with anything on it either.

And yes, A63ADG25X is a CR23.
It's pin #4 if you reference that pinout link that I was concerned about being broke off...I believe it's needed though.
Pin #'s 3 and 13 on that pinout link are non-existent pins. (blank spots)

I had this all drawn up one time, but can't find my good copy.
Here's my chicken scratch version from when I was making my CR23 for my Sencore.
The view is while looking at/facing the back of the tube.
X's are pins not used. 4 & 12
(ignore the stars, don't remember what the heck I was doing there)
