I have this Wrestle War I bought for cheap..100$ fully working with a crisp monitor and I really wanna Contra. I love Contra and think this cab would be perfect for and make a easy conversion. I will be painting the sides white and apply new Contra side art and a Contra marquee, the bezel will just be black behind some dark tinted plexi. I am not sure If Im going to go with contra cpo due to the fact the current buttons will not line up correctly with the start, run and jump logos. Does anyone think this would be a good conversion for this cab? This cab also has a drawer at the bottom where I can pop in any 2 button jamma game real easy.

Poor Stern cab..

.. makes a beautiful conversion! ;)

But, I would think the converted cabinet such as the presented would make a great candidate for a jamma cabinet.

If it has a drawer in it for easy board-swapping, I say go for it! That would make a nice Contra / horizontal Jamma cab.

Its your game, but I personally dont see the point of putting "some" Contra artwork on the cab and leave out the control panel. I'd either fabricate a new one or fill in holes & drill out new holes.

Contra is not really a high dollar game, why not see if you can find it dedicated? Maybe youll get lucky and work a trade deal.

Mainly doing it because it gives me something to work on and get rid of that horrible Wrestle War game

One of the first adapters I built was from System 16 to JAMMA back in the late 90's when I started collecting. :)

Because a collecta'/playa' needs his Shinobi, dig?

It's funny, that adapter is a mess compared to the "more current" ones I've built. I should rebuild it one day, make it nice.

Definitely interested in the Wrestle War board. Let me know.

For all the hassle of converting it to a Contra you could convert it back to a Stern game like Bagman. Contras pop up every now and then, usually cheap. Stern games don't. That way you've still got a cool project and the prospect of a better game, plus better return on a trade/sale if you decide to let it go.

Its not that big of a hassle, a marquee, control panel over lay and game board and some paint. Would take a weekend to do and Id have a game Id always wanted and would look pretty damn close to the dedicated cab. Theres nothing special about the cab, if it was a bezerk cab I could see saving it
