Tomorrow I will go out hunting for 19" drop-in tube for a K7000 chassis. It seems the model number for the tube that I want is A48JLL40X. I know Junknet has a list of televisions along with their tube models. It recommends the Daewoo DTQ20J4FC or DTQ2023FC, since both have the same tube. After some searching, I found that the Sanyo DS19330 also has this tube.

Does anyone have a picture of one of the two Daewoo televisions so I know what to look for?
Are there any other televisions that have the A48JLL40X tube?
Are there any other tubes that can be used?

I have a few contacts, but I'll need to know what to ask them for.

My Daewoo drop in tube came in a Emerson TV. You'll probably just have to peek inside any 19" TV you find. Bring a flashlight so you can see the tube number from the outside.

here is a pic, I put this in my defender and looks great, take a look at my defender thread.

The pic below has a Daewoo TV with the A48JLL40X tube, it is the one on the right.

Be sure to bring a little flashlight and the Junknet list when you go searching. I had better luck looking through the vents on the back of the TVs to find the right tube than by just looking at their model numbers -- there are a lot more TVs out there than just those on the list...

Thanks for the help!
I hadn't considered looking through the vent to see the model number of the tube.
The pictures will also be helpful to look for the daewoo televisions if they turn up.

Junknet seems to only list 2 televisions that have a K7000 drop-in tube.
Both of them are Daewoo televisions and they have the same tube in them.
Are there more tubes on that list that will work without a lot of modification?

Ended up finding a Sanyo DS19390 with a A48KRD82X (DT) in it.
They only wanted $5 so I decided I'd bring it home with me at least.
Apparently these can be a drop-in tube to a K7300.

Can they be used with a K7000 as well?

Junknet provides the following Yoke Readings:
Horiz-2.4ohm
Vert- 13.5ohm

This thread discussed something similar, but reverse (K7000 to K7300).

I've contacted a person with a warehouse full of old CRTs and tubes.
He recognized the model number and said he would check and get back to me.
I'll be keeping the other tube around. If he comes up empty, I may have to try the Yolk Swap.
I'm not anxious to try it. If I can't get it right, I'm left without any monitor at all.

If I don't end up using it, I'll certainly put it up for grabs.

At this point I would not recommend going further with any swap unless you get some help. It can be very dangerous due to the high voltage.

The socket you speak of usually you just splice the old connector from your original on the end and you are done or solder on anything you can find that will fit. This is not a reason you would not use the donor yoke.

In any case I would recommend reading more about monitor repair if you are going to attempt this yourself. Make sure you read about discharging CRT's and high voltage danger. I am not trying to discourage you but you should be aware of the dangers.

the last 5 25" I found were drop ins except for the RCA bonded yoke (watch out for those)

However, I have had to adjust the yokes anyway on each and I noticed that some had bowing/geometry slight issues from the yoke being slightly different inductance/impedance from the original. These were all k7000 BTW.

Meaning stay away from RCA-branded sets? Any others that use it?

yes watch out for bonded yokes from RCA. Either the RCA branded TV or other that uses RCA tubes from early 90's to early 2000's. You should be able to clearly see if it a RCA bonded yoke from warning sticker on tube or the fact most of them do not have pole or convergence rings on the neck of the tube. Either of these should be visible if you look in with a flashlight.

k7000 seem to work on a wide range. There was a thread about k7000 yokes last week. Nearly all of the 25's donors I have seen fell around 2ohm, 8ohm range so good for k7000's. I was surprised of how bad the convergence was on most of them with the untouched original rings and yoke. These were cheap TV's so I guess they did not put a lot of effort in converging them at the factory. Sanyo,Sharp, Orion seem to be the best match for me.

I'm aware of the dangers of working with CRTs and I know how to safely discharge the electricity, so don't worry about that.
The color of the cords don't line up and they are very different from one another.
I didn't think splicing them would be possible.
