I want to add some different things other than games to my arcade. I'm having problems coming up with anything new. I have seen entrances and stairways where people have done the cave theme and kind of like that. I also have been trying to keep some sort of music theme. I need some more ideas to my arcade. I really haven't done much to my own in years. Here's a video that I shot for my insurance company of where I was a couple years ago"

Help me come up with ideas!

Dude what else could you possibly need? Awesome arcade. Maybe add some neon. But that is a bad ass arcade.

I am thinking about a rock or mineshaft type stairway going into the basement. Anyone done this? I have also collected a bunch of huge old school ghettoblaster boomboxes. I will be building some type of lighted display case for these. I collected about 25 pairs of Air Jordans and other iconic sneakers and want to do some kind of wall of those like the show stores had but with a plexi bubble over the front. I picked up a lot more rock and roll black light posters that I hung and a few more autographed guitars. Those are also a must. Anyone know of a place to get how to instructions to do a faux cave entry for my stairs?

arcade

you need some collectors insurance, if you dont have any. nice set-up! i am sure you will make a terrific entrance way, please post when you complete the project!

Thanks everyone!

That is an unbelievable lineup... Side by side SW and ESB cockpits? Wow.

Which multi pac is that? I like the front end.

That's the old Arcade Shop Programmable board that I'm using in all my Multis. I've had them for years and they really work for what I wanted.

Does anyone have experience with making fake cave like walls? Anyone know the best way to do this or a site that shows how to's?

I like the jukebox with the touchscreen and the Daphne machine. What are you using for the jukebox? It was dark so I couldn't see the Daphne machine cabinet...is it a Dragon's Lair cab?

Very nice collection!

I'd say add a few more neons to start with. Perhaps some backlit marquee boxes, I've seen a few of those that look nice.

Build one or two of these and put them on your wall when coming down the stairs! So far there is only 1 in the world that I built but I gave to a friend as a gift. Here is the video. BTW your dog needs his own doggy door to the arcade with a little neon sign or something for him/her as well.. LOL

Testing making fake cave walls myself. I'm having good luck layering styrofoam in the general shape. Using Liquid Nails to glue layers. Form to desired detail, rasps/sandpaper etc... I then covered with tile grout.

The first piece I painted with Rustolem was fine. Second was with Krylon. It contains something that ate away at the styro where the grout was not very thick. Cool effect but not the goal.

This attempt was not very strong, so would be decoration only. Disney uses styro with a resin overspray. My pockets not so deep :)

Next I'm going to try a stryo form then a paper mache layer with adhesive grout as the last coat.
In theory "cough" should be a bit stronger and less tedious to apply the grout.

Hope this helps!
Any and all idea's welcome!
Thanks,
Creighton
